Every kid’s dream; picking out their dream toy
Fred’s big day, picking his toy
Fred wanted the dormant dromedary because it came with a fairy

But he had to choose between the dormant dromedaries with the fairy
Or the edifice with the dairy
Hmmm...decisions decisions.

Because Fred took too long to choose, it caused him to loose
and he’s been in the doldrums ever since

The desert of doldrums,
I’ve entered its domain.
Vaster than the tallest edifice
A place of no ecstasy, only pain.

The sand clutches my feet
Trapping me in duress.
Making thoughts of dulcet lay dormant,
Saying, “Follow what I say; you will never be the best!”

The draconian sun shines brighter,
Only to torture and tease me with heat.
Whispering, “You are dumb like a dromedary,”
And intensifying those thoughts of defeat.

The only way to live
Working through the gloom.
Travel the path back to normality
Surviving through mistakes will help you to bloom.

People said
for years and years,
no one will dare,
crash into the edifice
because it is one of the nation's landmarks.
But one day
two planes
smashed
right into
the front of the building.
The noise was like finger nails scratching a chalk board.

Raindrops jumped down after the draconian crash of thunder.
Through the window, such loud noises woke the sound sleeper.
I could not dormant well and worried for the flowers.
During the long night, the rain attacked like bombers.
Under my blanket, I tried to compose a poem.
Time passes but I could not finish it in good rhythm.
I felt ashamed as my work was but a big yawn.
The verse was incomplete till the rain stopped at dawn.
Touring my garden, I found red blossoms did drop
While all leaves looked vividly green at the tree top.

All stressed from the homework
and stressed from being called a jerk day after day.

But when I come home and lie down on the porch in the yard,
I feel dulcet and nothing seems hard.

In my mind I can imagine the impossible,
like a dromedary that flies in space that acts draconian to the astronauts on the moon,

or the trees coming to life and hits all the birds off its branches,
giving them duress.

When I lie down on the porch,
I am not in the doldrums or feel like a big angry flaming torch.

My mind feels free from all that stress,
and I don’t feel like a mess.

The camel has a single hump;
The dromedary two;
Or else the other way around.
I'm never sure. Are you?

If i go walking in the Sahara,
I don"t even dare to glance.
Because upon me, a dromedary I see.

she effaces him from the picture,
her thumb rubbing
rubbing
rubbing

she leans back
her finger now black
like his heart, rough and dark.

What right was his
to be so draconian
after all she’s done for him
is this how he treats her?
even if her skin is a creamy white
does really matter
it doesn’t change who she is inside

she slips a pill between her lips
one more
two
three

her thinking slows
to a dromedary’s pace
her body dormant in its place.
To the doldrums she is sent,
to be kept under duress
in pain and mourning’s domain.

She hear a voice,
dulcet and calling for her
it awakens her
lulls her back into reality

The voice, it pushes her
to face the world anew
stronger than ever
preparing her to change
so she can destroy anything
even an edifice
or something bigger
like racism.
to fight
as an egalitarian

Letting the balloons free
as they paint the bright blue sky
Orange Green Red Pink
as if they have a domain over the sky
Every one of them
able to accomplish anything
under duress
able to efface
the mistakes done in life
just like a baby
learning how to walk
*POP*.... *POP*
some balloons pop
some go on farther
until they pop of course
setting limits upon their dormant draconian lives
yet still striving for excellence

Sometimes...
Life is a draconian monster hitting my head,

Sometimes...
Life is a dulcet tone flowing in my head,

Life...
Something to enjoy
