In the story Chinese Cinderella i think the most important thinge is courage because, she shows her dad that he should be proud of her and stud up to her sibelings by wearing the badge for a long timwe and geting another award for wearing it so long.
In the story Chinese Cinderella I think the most important thing is the family relationships because thats mainly what the story is about. She is going through hard times with her family so its showing in the story the diffrent relationships she has with people in her family. For example she has the best relationship with her aunt Baba because they have spent more time together like when she was a baby her dad would put her crib in aunt Baba's room. Also she has her worst relationship with her dad because he almost never talks to just her and he doesnt really like her.
BONUS: Sierra put that courage is important and I agree with her because it takes courage for her to live in the house with a bunch of people who insult her, like telling her shes bad luck. Thats courage because it takes a lot out of you to stand there and take what they say to you.
I think that family relationships is very important to the story because that's how this book got started, and that's what the book mainly focuses about. One example is that her siblings hate her. Only the oldest brother actually cares about her. I think that is why her courage is so strong now; she had to be hated and she lived through it. another example is that when her grandma has a massive stroke, she is totally impacted by her death. I think this because her grandma would always treat her well and give her accolades. So when other siblings put her down, grandma would lift her up. So now that that relationship with the grandma is gone she will have hardly anyone to lift her up when she is put down. That is why family relations is so important in this story.
bonus:Ashley put that family relationship is the most important, i agree with you because it is hard to live in a house with people who hate you and think your worthless.
i believe the family relationship is very important, it shows what first happened that made the current, well current. The book really shows loneliness for the Chinese cinderella because in the book her siblings hate her for being born and the death of their mother. But there is her oldest brother and grandmother that really cares for her. Until her grandmother dies in the story. This makes a huge impact on her and leaves her really lonely. She already is going through a hard time considering she is hated by some of her siblings.
I think the family relationship with Chinese Cinderella is important because it shows how everything got started and how almost everbody in her family dis-respects her.
I believe that courage is important in Chinese Cinderella because she never gives up and is always fighting to survive in her cruel life. In chapter 7, she stood up against Niang while she was abusing the child. That showed a lot of courage, because no one has ever told that Niang was wrong or has ever argued with her. Another one was in chapter 8, when Niang found out that the Chinese Cinderella, her sisters, and brothers were getting money from Ye Ye for the tram fare. Niang was very upset and told everyone to apologize to her to get the tram fare money. Almost everyone gave in, but the Chinese Cinderella never gave up and started to walk to school, even if it was raining, or snowing.
In Chinese Cinderella I think one of the main themes is courage. I think this occurs a lot in chapter seven when Niang had not seen her daughter (Little Sister) since she was six months old. Little Sister enrages Niang when she does not want to be held by her. Niang starts to beat Little Sister with fury. Wu Mei stood up to Niang when nobody else did. Everyone else was staring at the floor not even wanting to help. It took a lot of courage to stand up to Niang. I don't know if I would even try to stand up to her. Also In chapter 13 It took a lot of courage for Wu Mei to go to Wu Chun Mei's birthday party. She already knew what would happen if she got caught. She would have to go through physical pain and emotional embarrassment. Even though she did get caught it took a lot of courage. If I was Wu Mei I would be too afraid that Niang would find out and tell Father to whip me.
I think loneliness is the most important thing because in the story Chinese Cinderella the protaginist has to face being lonley all the time. For example when she was getting her award at school, for wearing the class metal more weeks than anyone else, no one was there for her. No one was there to pat her head and tell her she did a good job. Also she was feeling lonley when her family was abanding her and ignoring her. Her dad, fourth brother, and step mother left and her grandma died. Her family was disappering before her eyes. Plus her family ignores her anyway. Her dad has only once spoken to just her and her brothers and sisters dont speak much to her unless its an insult.
I think that courage is the theme for the story "Chinese Cinderella" because, she is having to live in a home where she isn't apprectiated by many of the people that live there. A detail from the story is, as they first move into their new home, you could tell the mother showed no sympathy or love for the children by having them live on a seperate floor, and not being aloud to have any friends over. Also she is not cared for. On her first day at her new school, everybody forgets about her, and she is having a nervous breakdown, when one of the chef's finally offer to give her a ride to her school. She is also forgotten about when nobody is there to pick her up after school. She has a lot of guts to be living with people that don't show much love towards her, and that think of her as bad luck
I think one of the themes is courage for the "Chinese Cinderella" story, because she is living where people be mean and cruel to her. In chapter 4, she stood up to everyone that threatened her for wearing a medal every time she got one. The young girl stands up to big sister when she threatens her. Also, she has alot of courage to be standing up to people that don't care about her all the time.
I believe that the theme family relations is important to the story “Chinese Cinderella” because it shows how characters feel about each other, and how they affect each other. The first detail to support my answer is on page 19 line numbers 27-32 where it says that Nai Nai had died from a stroke. I could tell that Aunt Baba really loved her because she was crying. I could also tell that Adeline (Wu Mei) loved Aunt Baba because she tried to comfort her by hugging her. The second detail to support my answer is on page 14 lines 27-29 where “Oldest Sister” yells at Adeline and calls her stupid, then later on, on page 15 lines 1-2 “Oldest Sister” cries as she slaps Adeline. This shows that “Oldest Sister’ was affected greatly by her sister, Adeline, getting a leadership award. That's why I believe that the theme family relations is important to the story Chinese Cinderella.
I think one of the most important themes in "Chinese Cinderella" is courage. I believe this because it takes a lot for someone as young as Adeline, or anyone, to live in a place where they are not appreciated or not loved. One detail is when Niang is abusing "Little Sister." Adeline stood up for her, when no one else did and told Niang to stop. That took a lot of courage because no one has ever talked to Niang like that before or told her what to do. Another detail was when her older siblings were not treating her well because she won the medal from school. Most children would stop at this level, to avoid being treated terribly by their siblings again, but Adeline continued to exceed in school, even though she knew there would be consequenses. This is why I think courage is the most important theme in this story.
I think this book is about courage because even though the protaganist gets teased she stands up for herself. For example in Chapter 4 even when her family teases her about the medal she still tries to earn it.
I think the theme in Chinese Cinderella is to have family relations. For example when Adeline's grandma died of a stroke Aunt Baba was devastated and couldn't stop crying, showing what an impact Nai Nai was on her. Also, the way the sister treats Adeline, like slapping her and bullying her, shows how family relations caused Adeline to feel unwanted. Especially when they forgot to take her to school. One infrance is that even though her dad left her for a long time she probably felt loved when her dad was happy to see her.
In chinese cinderella i think that the foremost thing is audacity(courage) because Wu Mei put up with her family for ever and the only siblings that were kind or friendly to her were her Aunt Baba and her grandmother. She was pretty brave to stand up to her family. When they forgot about her on her first day of school she had to walk home and that's scary for her since she's so little and there's a lot of dangerous things out there. She has a big heart for someone who lives with people who don't even care about her or forget that she's there and treat her like dirt. Even when her father or sisters and brothers don't appreciate her, she still has confidence in herself and that's what matters most.
I think the most important trait in Chinese Cinderella is Family relations. This is because her step mom Niang treats her side of the family better than the side of the last mother's. That causes bad relationships. If they had good family relations then she wouldn't have felt like she was nothing and unwanted.
